Oldham Athletic boss has called on fans to come down and support his players as they look to go ten games unbeaten in all competitions on Saturday.
Walsall are the visitors to SportsDirect.com Park on Saturday and with no Premier League or Championship games due to the international break, Johnson is calling on supporters to head down to the ground to witness his side this weekend.
Speaking during his press conference, the gaffer said: "We all feel that we are on the cusp of something quite well however we are one loss away from looking like we are struggling again so we have just got to keep chipping away.
"There are some really tough games and it is a tough division this season so we need to stay in touch with the playoffs. The more people that come through the gate and support us can only benefit the players. We have got a nice atmosphere going at the moment and that's how I want to see it."
The Saddlers currently lie 16th in the Sky Bet League One and picked up 12 points from their ten games this season. "They have a really good manager who is punching above his weight at that club," commented Johnson.
"They have a good team with Sawyers in the hole and obviously Butler is back with them now and they drew with Bristol City at the weekend who are one of the toughest in the division so it's going to be a tough game. We need everyone to get behind us because it's going to be a challenging game."
With the games coming thick and fast due to the club's exploits in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, the 33-year-old is cautious to rest certain players.
"You have to plan well in these intense periods and that has stood us in good stead. We have had a couple of niggles so far but not as many as we had last season.
"We have a stronger back up group this season which we definitely showed on Tuesday night so it shows we are heading in the right direction," said Johnson.
