Oldham Athletic versitility player David Mellor has joined Conference Premier side Alfreton Town on a one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old, who came through Latics' youth system, has only made one substitute appearance for the club this season against Middlesborough and has been allowed to join the Derbyshire side for a month.Mellor has made just under 50 appearances for Latics so far in his career and the manager feels first team football will benefit his game.
He said: "Dave had a summer knee injury and has been chasing fitness ever since.
"This is a good chance for him to go and get games under his belt to benefit all parties."
The midfielder played in Alfreton's 3-2 home victory over Telford last night, playing 82 minutes before being substituted.
