Oldham Athletic AFC is pleased to announce the launch of its new North Stand along with the ticketing and seating proposals for next season.
Having been under construction since late 2013, chairman, Simon Corney has confirmed that the new stand will be operational for the 2015/16 season and that the club is now ready to unveil details of the match day and non-match-day facilities that will be available.
Corney said: "We will be calling the new conference and hospitality facilities the Oldham Event Centre, the OEC. We want the venue to be instantly memorable and also reflect that this is an Oldham project. Manchester has the MEN, Birmingham has the NIA, Oldham will have the OEC.
"We want the town and supporters to have an opportunity to come and see exactly what will be on offer and will be holding two showcase events in the executive lounge of the George Hill Main Stand when they will be able to come and view the full range of facilities that we will be offering within the OEC. These events will take place on Wednesday, April 29 for fans and Thursday, April 30 for sponsors and interested businesses.
"It's not just the new stand that is benefitting from investment as we will also be upgrading the facilities in the existing three stands and making some seating changes which will make the overall experience much better for everyone visiting the ground," said Corney.
"Our club is moving forward and we are genuinely excited to be sharing our new facilities with our fans and friends, old and new."
Season Ticket prices for the 2015/16 season have also been announced to coincide with the OEC launch and the club is delighted to confirm that prices have been frozen at 2014/15 levels for the 'early bird' discount period. (please click here for the application form)
Sales will commence at the open days, with former Broadway Stand season ticket holders having the opportunity to reserve seats in the new North Stand on the 27th and 28th April as per the club’s promise when the Broadway Stand was demolished.
Corney continued: "As a board we felt it right to keep prices at this season's levels. They will increase following the 'early bird' discount period, but we are sure that fans welcome this step."
The club is also making changes to the seating arrangements and will be relocating away fans to the Zen Office Chaddy End from the start of next season. This decision has been taken following a long consultation period, including discussions with our supporters.
Along with an increased capacity in the Rochdale Road Stand, the small section of the Rochdale Road Stand will be transformed into the club's new family and community area, with season tickets in this section available from just £10.
Commenting on these changes, Corney said: "We believe this will significantly improve the match day experience for our supporters."
