Community Trust Holiday Clubs - Player Visit

7 August 2015

Timothee Dieng, David Cornell, Mike Jones and George Edmundson yesterday visited the Oldham Athletic Community Trust holiday club to spend time with the children and staff.

The visit saw the quartet answer questions from the children, sign autographs and pose for pictures. This was the third visit of the summer with Joel Coleman, Danny Byrnes, Lee Croft, Brian Wilson, Jack Tuohy, Jordan Bove and Jake Cassidy already previous attendees.

The visits prove to be a fantastic way for the children to meet some of their footballing idols before the season kicks off this weekend.

It has been an action packed three weeks at the Oldham Athletic Community Trust holiday club, with on average 50 children per day attending the popular holiday club. The club has proved so popular that the vast majority of days were fully booked well before the summer holidays began.

The OACT holiday club, which once again is being held at the Oldham Futsal Arena, has featured weekly themes and guest appearances throughout the weeks. Last Friday afternoon there was a visit from the 2010 commonwealth gold medallist Stuart Marshall who spent the afternoon showing the children the basic moves of fencing.

Across the week the children can take part in a variety of different activities, from futsal to football, handball to dodgeball, StreetCheer to basketball and many other sports. In addition there is the daily quiz and competitions such as OACT’s very own X Factor competition.

Next week our holiday clubbers will each receive a complimentary junior ticket for the upcoming game against Fleetwood Town to celebrate the opening of the brand new family and community stand.
