VIDEO: Polyflor Supports Oldham Athletic Community Trust

10 August 2015

Polyflor have committed their support to OACT by signing up as partners for the Kicks project as well as re-affirming their sponsorship of the Boundary Blues for a third consecutive season.

With a sales, marketing and distribution hub based at Salmon Fields in Royton, Polyflor is a major manufacturer of commercial and residential vinyl floorcoverings, operating successfully throughout the world.

The foundation of Polyflor’s success is their customer focus, and the company works closely with contractors, specifiers and end users to understand their requirements and provide the ideal flooring solution for any installation. Polyflor has dedicated personnel within its sales, marketing technical and design teams to provide comprehensive customer support. The company has developed an extensive network of agents, distributors and wholly-owned subsidiaries throughout all markets, to ensure excellent product and sample availability.

As part of the sponsorship, the Polyflor logo will feature on the front of the Kicks kit which is worn at the various tournaments and friendly games that the Kicks participants take part in. The sponsorship from Polyflor will help OACT confirm their place in next season’s North West Kicks League and contribute towards the associated costs.

The NW Kicks League sees 11 local community trusts play a monthly fixture giving participants a chance to represent their area and Oldham Athletic in a competitive fixture. Last season, the Oldham Athletic Kicks team played in two national tournaments and faced the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City Kicks in some entertaining and competitive encounters.

In addition to supporting the Kicks project, Polyflor has also continued their partnership with Oldham Athletic’s Junior Supporters Club - The Boundary Blues. The Boundary Blues has been established for many years with an aim of making sure that the young fans have a chance to fully integrate into the Oldham Athletic fan base and in turn help to create Oldham Athletic fans for life. The Boundary Blues welcomes everyone into the Oldham Athletic family.

Martin Vose, OACT Community Manager commented: “I really would like to thank John Mellor and everyone at Polyflor for their support. The support of local businesses plays a crucial role in our delivery and it’s fantastic to see local businesses supporting a local charity. The support from Polyflor will greatly assist us in our delivery and without their support we may not have been able to continue to offer the opportunities that we have done over the previous 12 months”.

John Mellor, Polyflor Market Manager added: “On behalf of Polyflor, I am delighted that we are again supporting the valuable work carried out by the Oldham Athletic Community Trust, extending our sponsorship to the Kicks initiative as well as Boundary Blues. The Community Trust carries out a sterling job engaging with the local community and we are pleased to help ensure these vital projects continue into the coming season.  One of our key objectives as a company is to work with the local community as part of our corporate social responsibility.  On a personal level, I am thrilled to be involved in this sponsorship being a Latics fan for many years and also a born and bred Oldhamer.”

All Boundary Blues members will be automatically entered into our mascot system giving the opportunity for members to lead the team out on match day. Other activities include Christmas and end of season parties where members will meet the Oldham Athletic team as well as Boundary Blues trips to away fixtures.
