Pathology Management Services was founded in 1980 when it was based in a small premise in Ashton-under-Lyne with a client base of approximately ten clients. Pathology Management Serveices is currently based in Middleton and has been since 1995.
During the intervening years, the client base has expanded solely on client recommendations. To date, the client base is approximately 275.
The clients are made up of one man operations to national companies inclining leading supermarket chains, leisure companies, hotel chains, holiday resort parks and departments within the NHS to name but a few.
From its humble beginnings of testing approximately five samples per week, Pathology Management Services is currently testing approximately 6,000 samples per month. Pathology Management Services provides a professional, approachable and client friendly service.
Pathology Management has been UKAS accredited since 1995 (previously NAMMAS) and TESCO accreditation since 2009.
The success of the company is partly due to the low turnover of staff who are all highly qualified, fully trained and motivated into providing an excellent service the clients have come to expect. The staff of nine are all from the local area.
Pathology Management Services also provides placements for work experience for students in the Greater Manchester area. Many of these students return having left school and moving onto higher education, college and university in order to enhance their skills and knowledge in the scientific environment.

Pathology Management Services provides a comprehensive microbiological testing service for water samples - drinking water to ensure they are meeting EEC criteria, swimming pools, spas, jacuzzis, production water from food suppliers and many more.
Food microbiology testing is provided to ensure food safety and food handlers.
Environmental microbiology testing takes on the form of swab testing and air sampling to ensure safety and quality in all areas.
