Dunn Expecting Tough Clash Against Coventry City

18 December 2015

Manager David Dunn knows his side need to be at their best to get something out Saturday’s game with high-flying Coventry City.

The Sky Blues sit five points behind leaders Burton Albion in Sky Bet League One, however, the gaffer is hoping to take the game to Tony Mowbray’s side and get something out of the game.

He said: "Coventry are a fantastic side who play good football. We will have a game plan to try and stop them doing that and hopefully our quality will come through.

“We’ve got players that can play and it’s a matter of getting the confidence out of them like they show in training throughout the week.”

In contrast to Coventry City, Latics find themselves in the bottom four of the division.

“We have not won as many games as we should have,” the manager admitted. “If we turned a couple of points into wins, which we could have done, we could have been looking at a different story.

"Unfortunately we didn’t and we have to look at the reality that we are in the bottom four and we need to start winning games and winning them fast. The squad and the team know what we have to do and we have to try and put a smile back on everyones face.”

With January on the horizon, Dunn has hinted he will dip into the market should the right player come available.

“We’ve got other players coming back into the fold now and we have January coming up so we’ve got a chance to change a few things around,” he said.

"I’ve got targets in mind. I will sit down with the Chairman, Neil Joy, and the powers that be going forward and see what we and sort out.”
