Latics Second In The Country For Player Visits

17 December 2015

As a community club we pride ourselves on engaging with members of the public within Oldham.

During the 2014/15 season, Oldham Athletic came second to Tottenham Hotspur in the number of player visits delivered in one season.

We conducted around 1,100 player visit with Spurs breaking the 1,200 player visit barrier. We are one of only three clubs to have conducted over 1000 player visits in the 2014/15 season.

This is a very special moment for us as a club and Community Trust as it shows that we are up there with the best around and engaging with members of the pubic from Oldham more than other clubs are in bigger cities and towns.

These statistics were given to us by the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) within their Player Engagement Evaluation 2014/15.

Within that, a special mention goes to Jack Truelove for being Oldham Athletic’s Community champion having been on the most players visits in 2014/15.

Oldham Athletic Community Trust Operations Manager Wendy Noble said: “It’s important as a club we get out into the community and engage with people of all ages.

“Our schools project is very successful and we hope that we have created Oldham fans for life due to the players showing their support to the children.

“We pride ourselves on players engaging with supporters and this goes to show how much we do in the community of Oldham.”
