Manager Lee Johnson is hopeful Saturday's game will go ahead, despite the conditions, as he looks to get his side's play-off aspirations back on track.
After last Tuesday's postponement against Rochdale and Saturday's defeat to Gillingham, Latics find themselves in 14th position but still three points off a play-off position in a tight Sky Bet League One.
Notts County visit SportsDirect.com Park this Saturday and Johnson's men have the chance to leapfrog their opponents with a win and he is hopeful the game will go ahead as scheduled.
He said: "We want the game on and we need a home game. We all saw how fantastic the Fleetwood win was and how good everyone felt after it, then to see how disappointed we were after Gillingham.
"We know that our crowd make a really positive experience for the players and they really do react to that so we need that again on Saturday.
"Notts County have done well and have progressed like us. We are similar size clubs and we hope to turn them over on Saturday."
With the weather conditions hampering training ahead of Saturday's game, the manager revealed one of his key players looked set to return to the squad.
"Jonathan [Forte] was due to train today but he cannot get in due to being snowed in on his drive, as are seven or eight of the players, and they will make sure they go down to their local gym and we'll have a good look at them tomorrow and we'll see see whether Jonathan is ready to start.
"Other than that, we have a clean bill of health. Rhys Turner is back. I really like Rhys but he's been blighted by injuries but he's still young and we are praying that he can have a clean run of health until the end of the season."
The January transfer window is set to close Monday night and the 33-year-old remains confident he can add a few bodies to his squad.
"We are always looking," said Johnson. "We are close to a couple but they keep hitting a bit of a snag here and there. There is no secret we are in the market and we want to sign a couple at least."
