2 July 2015

In this feature, we take an in-depth look at the 23 other teams in Sky Bet League One this season.

Rochdale

Nickname:
Dale

Founded:
1907

Ground:
Spotland

Capacity:
10,249

League position last season:
8th - Sky Bet League One

2014/15 top goalscorer:

Manager:
Keith Hill - The 46-year-old is currently in his second spell with Rochdale after rejoining in 2013.

Hill started his managerial career with Dale back in December 2006 and almost guided the club to promotion in his first season in charge.

However, Rochdale were beaten by Stockport County in the play off final in 2008.

The charismatic manager finally guided Dale out of the fourth tier of English football in 2010 and excelled in the following season.

That earned him a move to Barnsley where he spent 18 months in South Yorkshire before rejoining Dale in January 2013.

Hill again guided Dale to promotion to Sky Bet League One in 2013/14 and last season they finished in 8th position.

The manager will be hoping to go one better this season and push for a promotion place next season.

Key player:
Ian Henderson - The 30-year-old is enjoying his most prolific scoring spell with Rochdale.

The striker has notched 37 goals in just over 100 appearances and finished the club's top goalscorer last season with 22 goals.

Henderson has had previous spells with Norwich City, Luton Town and Colchester United before joining Dale.

He has been capped by England at under 16 and 18 level and will hope to fire Dale into the promotion places next season.

Head-to-head:
The history books show that Latics have faced Rochdale 53 times in all competitions, winning 22 and losing 15.

Latics enjoyed double success over their local rivals last season, beating them 3-0 in both fixtures.

Jonathan Forte's penalty helped seal a 3-0 victory at Spotland, whilst Rhys Turner's double inspired Latics to a 3-0 win at SportsDirect.com Park.
