MATCH PREVIEW: FC Halifax Town v Oldham Athletic

28 July 2015

Oldham Athletic travel to the Shay Stadium for tonight's fourth pre-season friendly with FC Halifax Town (7.45 kick off).

Latics will be looking to improve on their last two friendlies, losing both to Championship opposition 2-0.

Blackburn Rovers cast Latics aside on Saturday but for 60 minutes, Latics looked the better side.

After two earlier pre-season victories against Chester FC and Stirling Albion, manager Darren Kelly will be looking for his players to get back amongst the goals as no goals were registered in the last two games.

Dominic Poleon and Jonathan Forte were absentees against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday but both are expected to get some minutes under their belt tonight.

The game might come slightly too soon for Latics summer signing Jake Cassidy as he continues his recovery from a calf injury.

Kelly is expected to name a number of trialists in the squad, however one that will not feature is striker Alen Ploj who has left the club.

Defender Gavin Gunning, PSV youngster Ryan Hiwat and defender Josh Thompson are just some of the trialists set to feature tonight.

The manager has hinted at more game time for certain players as preparations continue for the start of the league campaign in 10 days time.

Remember you can follow all the action tonight as Gordon and Roy provide commentary on Latics PlayerHD.
