We take a look back at Oldham Athletic's 2014/15 Sky Bet League One campaign in our season review feature.
December really was a month to forget for Latics as they failed to register a point and were knocked out of the FA Cup at the second round stage.
However, optimism was high heading into the month after just beating rivals Rochdale 0-3 at Spotland and only registering one defeat in 19 outings.
The first game of the month was the FA Cup second round clash with Doncaster Rovers.
Latics had reached the FA Cup third round for the past couple of seasons and were full of confidence heading into the game but a late George Elokobi own goal meant Latics were cruelly dumped out of the competition early.
It's fair to say that the next two futures really did not go in favour of Latics as they faced Yeovil Town and MK Dons.
A 0-4 home defeat to the Glovers was followed by a heavy 7-0 defeat to the Dons as Latics started the Christmas period on the back foot.
One shining light to come out of Christmas was the smiles the Oldham Athletic players put on children faces who were unfortunate not to spend the festive period at home.
Liam Kelly, Carl Winchester, Amari Morgan-Smith, Adam Lockwood, Rhys Turner and Joel Coleman were all present at Oldham Royal Hospital to deliver gifts and spread goodwill and peace.
After that appearance, the players then did their best Christmas jokes as we got into the spirit of things.
Adam Lockwood's joke was a highlight, James Dayton stole the show and Dominic Poleon's jumper certainly won first prize.
Latics finished the month with defeat at home to Crewe Alexandra as a Nicky Ajose double won the game for the visitors.
George Elokobi had equalised for Latics but the former Manchester United man scored late on to win the game for the Railwaymen.
That result meant Latics finished 2014 in 13th position.
