Holden: "Everyone Is Talking About The Game."

12 March 2015

Caretaker boss Dean Holden faces former boss Lee Johnson on Saturday as he brings his side to SportsDirect.com Park for the first time since his departure.

Johnson left Latics 15 days ago for the South Yorkshire club with Holden taking the reigns for the foreseeable future.

Since then, Latics have won one of their three games whilst Johnson has picked up three wins from three, without conceding a goal.

Speaking about Johnson's impending return, Holden said: "Everyone is talking about the game. They will bring a good following with them so it should be a real good atmosphere come kick off.

"These are the games you want to play in and it's a great chance for the lads to play Barnsley and exploit their weaknesses, nullify their threats and get the three points.

"It's three points at the end of the day which will get us back on track to get promoted so there will be a lot of passion around, on and off the pitch, but we need to make sure the players play with discipline and clarity. They don't need to get too involved emotionally in whats going on and they need to use their football brains.

"You're bred in football to move forward really quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing Tommy and Lee but we will be looking to beat us just like they will be looking to put one over on us too."

With Brian Wilson suspended for the game after picking up two bookings against Yeovil Town last week, Holden will be forced to tinker with his starting 11.

"It gives someone else a chance to come in and prove what they are worth," he commented.

"They are all chomping at the bit in training. We have had a real good week in training and we are in good spirits."

The loan window remains open for business still to happen and the 35-year-old admits he is trying to add a few bodies to his side.

"We are trying to get one or two players in for Saturday," said Holden. Hopefully we might get a bit of good news regarding that later today but if not we are good to go for Saturday.

"There are lads ready to step in and we have a good squad of players at the club."
