The SportsDirect.com Park pitch has been nominated as one of the best three playing surfaces in Sky Bet League One.
The nomination in based on a combination of match reports from referees officiating at SportsDirect.com Park and marks awarded by opposition managers.
Head groundsman, Lee Williams, said: "We have worked hard throughout the season to provide the best playing surface possible for the first team through some tough weather conditions.
"I would like to thank Steve Halley from Cheshire Turf Machinery, East Riding Horticulture and Everris for their continued support.
"Thanks to my staff and matchday volunteers for their help before and after matches. It's a real team effort and we should be proud of what we have achieved.
"Now we have got to put our case across to the assessor and try our best to win the prize for the club."
Chief executive, Neil Joy, added: "It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of Lee and his staff. The pitch has earned plaudits from players, staff, visiting directors and match officials."
The club will find out if they have won the Pitch of the Year at the end of the season.
