On-loan full back Mat Sadler is keen to get games under his belt and help Latics up the table and finish strongly.
The defender joined the club last week initially on loan for a month from Rotherham. "The reason I've come is to play games and I've not been a happy watcher over the last couple of months so I'm absolutely desperate to play," he said.
"My record over the last couple of years is that I play, so now that I'm here to play, I'm desperate to win and get that consistency and hopefully do well for the club.
"It's a very well run club and it has a lot of good people. They have made a good impression for me and I want to get that result.
"When you are sat in the house or watching games, all you want to feel is the buzz on the back of your neck. Our fans were fantastic on Saturday and I had the chill on the back of my spine and there is nothing better than playing in those sorts of matches."
MK Dons are the visitors to SportsDirect.com Park tonight and it is a game that excites the 30-year-old.
"It's another good game to play. They have hit a bit of bad form and hopefully we can capitalise on that and put our form right.
"Whatever happened in the 7-0 defeat has no bearing on this game. We got beat on Saturday and everyone now wants to put things right and it's a great opportunity to do that against a good time. Having seen us play on Saturday, we are a good side as well.
"We are a good football team with good technical players. From what I've seen, the signs are very good. We need to drill up on our resilience and our reactions to conceding a goal. I think we have good signs of a very good football team."
