SIGNING: Holden Recruits Defender On Loan

19 March 2015

Dean Holden has bolstered his defensive options with the signing of Anthony Gerrard on an emergency loan until the end of the season from Huddersfield Town.

Gerrard, who is the cousin of Liverpool captain Steven, has only featured four times for the Terriers this campaign after signing in 2012.

Before this season, Gerrard had been an ever-present in Huddersfield's team and has netted twice in 81 appearances.

The 29-year-old has had previous spells with Walsall, Cardiff City and Hull City.

Speaking about the signing, Holden said: "Gerrard is a player we have tracked for a couple of weeks now. He is a natural leader with a good pedigree and most importantly he is a winner.

"He will be a very good addition to our squad."

Gerrard will wear the number 24 shirt during his time with the club.
