Good Luck At Wembley, South Failsworth Primary School!

22 May 2015

Everybody at Oldham Athletic would like to wish South Failsworth the best of luck for the final on Sunday!

Manager Darren Kelly and his assistant Dean Holden delivered a training session to South Failsworth school ahead of their Wembley final against Crawley Town on Sunday.

The children, who won regional and national heats to get to the final on Sunday, were coached by the new management duo yesterday as they prepare for the day of their lives on Sunday.

Before the League One play-off final, South Failsworth will take to the Wembley turf and look to win the Kids Cup trophy.

Manager Kelly said: "We have been down here to encourage them and give them little bits of advice.

"If I had the manager of the local professional football team going down to teach me, it would inspire me.

"It's a fantastic achievement to get to the final of the competition so if we can play a role in that success by encouraging them along, then we are happy to do it.

"It's a fantastic occasion for them and not a lot of people get to play at Wembley in their lifetime so it's important they enjoy themselves."

Holden added: "After speaking to them, they said they haven't slept for the last few nights.

"The excitement is there for all to see. I've not played there myself so I can imagine how excited they are.

"How many people can say they have played at Wembley? There will be around 60,000 fans there for the League One play off final so it's a brilliant experience for the young kids.

"They have got a lot of good players in their team so they have a very good chance to get the win."
