Dunn Less Than Impressed With Performance

29 November 2015

Manager David Dunn was less than impressed with his sides performance yesterday as they lost 1-0 away to Crewe Alexandra.

Adam King’s first half goal was the difference between the sides and Dunn had some strong words for his players after the game.

He said: "I’m probably a bit speechless if I’m honest because I’ve said that much in there. I think sometimes in life you have to stand up and be counted.

“I said it last week and you have to be responsible for your own performance and quite honestly I can’t defend it.

“I’ve just asked them is it something we are doing in training but there is nothing we can do but when they go out on the pitch it’s totally different story.

"I’m not seeing enough desire to go out there and put a performance in, especially when the chips are down. I’m not very happy.

"You work your socks off to put things right but it’s very difficult because I feel let down at times. We’ve got to dust ourselves off and go again.

One positive was the return of Jake Cassidy, who has been missing for 15 weeks with a broken leg.

“To ask him to play 45 minutes in his first game back was a big ask for him but I thought he did well and gave us something else that we have been lacking recently,” said Dunn.
