J D Williams Team Of The Week

21 November 2015

Oldham Athletic Community Trust would like to welcome Middleton Lads and Girls JFC to SportsDirect.com Park , who are our J D Williams Team of the Week for this afternoon’s fixture against Barnsley.

Here is a little more information about them:

Middleton lads and girls JFC was formed in 2005 and is based in Middleton. With a large catchment area and a wide demographic the club serves the community and provides children with a safe environment to hone their football skills.

The club is FA chartered standard and welcomes children between the age of 4 and 16 years of age. The club is run by volunteers who provide the team managers with coaching and support to ensure they have the skills to focus on the development of the children within each age group. The club currently has over 30 teams and is committed to being a hub within the local community regardless of a child's ability or background. More information about our different teams can be found at www.middletonladsfc.com.

Today's team of the week is our current under 7’s squad. Our red and green teams play in the East Manchester junior football league in a 5 a side format. Both teams are doing well this year and learning to win and lose as a team whilst encouraging their understanding of teamwork and making new friends across the town.

For some of the lads this will be their first experience of a live football match, as well as the exciting experience of playing on the pitch at half time. It is an experience that we cannot thank the club enough and as we are in the catchment area of OAFC may also encourage the parents to get the kids along to other matches and another generation of fans.
