Burnley duo Daniel Lafferty and Cameron Dummigan faced the Latics PlayerHD cameras this week ahead of Saturday’s local derby with Rochdale.
The full backs joined the club on October 2 and made their debuts for the club in the 3-3 draw with Gillingham at the start of the month.
Lafferty, who operates at left back, is excited for tomorrow’s local derby clash with Rochdale.
He said: "Living in the Manchester area, we know what it means to the people. I watched a documentary on BBC Three two weeks ago and Oldham and Rochdale was on it kicking off so we know what it means to the fans.
“If selected, it will be great to be involved and derby games are always special so hopefully we can go there, put on a performance and get a good result.”
The pair both played a vital role in David Dunn’s first victory on Tuesday night and Lafferty believes the club can put a run of results together now.
“I think we have been unlucky in the results but it was great to finally get a win on Tuesday night,” he commented.
"The lads were saying after the game it was the turning point. The performances have merited more wins and the result on Tuesday can springboard the season here now.
"There is a great positivity in the camp. Even though we have been down the bottom of the table, there is a great feel and optimism around the squad.
"The lads are all hungry and want to do well so it makes us want to do well. We want to kick on now and get a few more results.”
With both their loan periods set to expire against Burton Albion next week, both were clear that they wanted to stay beyond their proposed stay.
“It’s the managers option but we are both here, both enjoying it and I don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t stay,” Lafferty said.
"It would be quite frustrating to go back to Burnley and not play so it will be good to play regularly on Saturday and Tuesday for Oldham. I’d much like to stay anyway, if given the opportunity.”
