Oldham Athletic Community Trust would today like to welcome ROCS FC U10s to SportsDirect.com, who are our J D Williams Team of the Week for this afternoon’s fixture against Scunthorpe United.
Here is a little more information about them:
ROCS FC was formed in 2008 by Alan Dawson and Paul Tonge. ROCS FC was originally created for girls aged under 14 and under 16. The first season went very well and both teams (u14s and u16s) won their leagues and league cups respectively in the North Manchester Girls Football League. The girls’ teams carried on winning leagues and cups at various age groups and were soon playing in cup finals, against the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City.
In 2009 ROCS FC created an under 15s boys team and played in the Tameside Sunday League, which to date they still play in.
In 2014 CORPUS ROCS FC GIRLS U10s BLUE AND GREEN TEAMS were formed. The under 10s teams have been together for a year and they began through use of a grant from the Football Foundation. All the girls of these two teams attend Corpus Christi RC School in Chadderton and they play in the North Manchester Girls Football League on Saturday mornings.
In their first season it took time for the girls to get to know how to play as a team and build knowledge of the game. CORPUS ROCS FC finished the season strongly and are looking forward to continue this throughout this season, the girls are filled with optimism for the challenge.
ROCS FC are a Charter Standard Club and all the coaches are FA qualified and CRB/DBS checked. If you would like any details regarding ROCS FC please contact, Alan Dawson: 07894034827
