Versatile player Danny Philliskirk believes his teammates are full of confidence heading into tonight’s game with Swindon Town.
The midfielder/striker, who has operated in a number of positions this season, is hoping to take the form from Saturday’s draw with Sheffield United into tonight’s game with the Robins.
"They have parted company with their manager so their players will be wanting to prove something. For us it’s a big game as well.
"We are both down there and need a win but the lads are full of confidence. Training was good today and we believe we can go there and get three points.”
Summing up the season so far, the 24-year-old believes the team are not far from putting a consistent run of form together to race up the league.
“It has been frustrating but if you look at the table we are only a few wins off being up there,” Philliskirk admitted.
"Everyone seems to be picking up points and then dropping points and it’s a crazy league. If you can get a few wins early on you can shoot right up the table.
“If you can get two or three wins on the bounce and get the consistency going and then I’m sure we will be alright."
Asked whether he preferred a midfield or striker role, Philliskirk responded: “It depends what formation we are playing.
“We played a 4-3-3 on Saturday with Fulton and Winchester in front of Kelly and I don’t mind being on the right for that because I can come inside and Dummigan can get around me which is good.
"With whoever is up top, whether it be Higdon, Poleon or Ricardo, I can play off them so I don’t really mind.”
