Dunn: “I’m Loving Every Minute.”

4 September 2015

Experienced midfielder David Dunn has settled well into life at Oldham Athletic and feels he can only go from strength-to-strength when he reaches peak fitness.

The 35-year-old has featured six times for Latics so far this season after signing at the end of July and he is making the most of his time with the club.

He said: "It’s really enjoyable and I’ve settled in pretty well. Although we would have liked a few more points and to have picked up a few more wins, it’s always nice to be unbeaten. I’m loving every minute at the moment.

“The big thing for me was that I have had my backside wiped for the last 20 years and I’ve found it humbling and refreshing to clean my own boots again, muck in with the lads and do the things I should be doing.”

The former Blackburn man missed a lot of pre-season but admits he is getting better and better with games.

"I looked the other day and I’m 30 minutes behind all the minutes I played last season which is a little strange. If you go by that, I’m doing really well,” he admitted.

“The big thing I’ve found with my fitness is that my brain is telling me to do one thing but my little legs aren’t quite there just yet. I’m hoping over time that will come back over time.”

Bradford City are the visitors to SportsDirect.com Park tomorrow afternoon and Dunn admitted it will be a tough encounter.

“It will be a competitive game,” he said. "I know Josh Morris well from his time at Blackburn and with the big man James Hanson up front, they will be a big threat. We will have to be at our best to get the win.”
