New interim manager David Dunn hopes his appointment will provoke a response from his players after last week’s disappointment.
Dunn was appointed interim manager on Sunday after Darren Kelly left the club after last weekend’s game against Peterborough United.
The 35-year-old has brought in Keith Brown to assist him and Dean Holden with first team training and Dunn expects a positive response from his players.
“The players have responded really well in training and I’m sure they are all looking forward to put it right on Saturday.
"One thing in football is when you do suffer a defeat like that, you only have to wait a couple of days or a week to put it right so we will be looking to do that on Saturday.
"I’m excited about the opportunity to lead the club and pick some good results up. It is a fantastic opportunity for me and one things for sure I’ll be giving 110% on and off the training pitch.”
With two defeats on the bounce, Dunn aims to sure up the defence. “After the defeat last week, we have to be difficult to beat,” he admitted.
"One thing is for sure in football, I am a big believer that you have to stay in every game and we shouldn’t be going too gung-ho yet.
"We have had full week trying to stamp our thoughts on it. There are certain things we’ve been looking to do and hopefully that will have an effect on Saturday’s game.”
With both Rhys Turner and Rhys Murphy leaving the club on loan to League Two clubs today, the gaffer admitted he is in the market for new players before Saturday.
He said: "We are actively looking to do a few things now so I’ll be busy in the next 24 hours to do that. It has been hectic over the last few days so we’ll see what we can do.”
The supporters will play a huge part this weekend and Dunn admits they have been fantastic this season.
“One thing I have noticed so far is that the away support we have had this season has been fantastic so hopefully that continues and we hope to send them home smiling by 5pm,” he commented.
