J D Williams Team Of The Week

26 September 2015

The J D Williams Team Of The Week is back this afternoon and Oldham Athletic Community Trust would today like to welcome Moorside Juniors U9s for this afternoon’s fixture against Wigan Athletic.

Here is a little more information about the team:

MOORSIDE JUNIORS FOOTBALL CLUB

Moorside Juniors football club has been running since 2004. They are based in the hills of Moorside which is an area of Oldham and for the current season will run two youth teams (Under 9s and Under 13s). Moorside maintain close links with the local professional clubs for the development of gifted and talented players, in particular Oldham Athletic FC.

The junior football club is currently working towards F.A Chartered Standard Community Club award, this is the highest award possible in the chartered standard scheme. Each junior team at Moorside JFC has at least one FA qualified coach working towards there FA badges allocated to them.

All the coaches have first aid and child protection training and all the adults dealing with official Moorside JFC matters are CRC checked. Coach development is encouraged through FA courses, coaching demonstrations and the sharing of football and coaching experiences which is something Moorside JFC prides itself on.

The coaches and officials of Moorside JFC are all volunteers and give their time and efforts freely because they love the game of football. At Moorside JFC coaches don’t just turn up for training and matches there are many hours spent away from the pitch, organising preparing coaching sessions and carrying out administrative work to ensure we are successful in delivering football coaching of the highest standard possible for our junior players.

Moorside are always on the lookout for adults prepared to help out in junior football. The game desperately needs organisers, secretaries, webmasters, administrators, referees, coaches and sponsors. Anyone interested please contact Moorside JFC with your details and a member of Moorside JFC will contact you to follow up your interest.

Both the teams currently play on a Saturday morning in the Manchester youth and mini soccer league which is based at failsworth high school and train on a Wednesday evening for one hour each.

A youth committee is also in place and meets once a month to discuss any matters arising from the previous month’s meeting, the club is very grateful for all the committee  volunteers, coaches, parents and of course the players  who give up their free time to ensure the club keeps running on a daily basis. We would like to go on the record and say thanks for their efforts !

It is a pleasure to be Oldham Athletic’s “J D Williams team of the week” and a great experience for the children and adults involved with Moorside juniors football club to be here today.

COME ON OLDHAM!
