Deadline day signing Eoghan O’Connell is keen to link up with his teammates and force his way into Darren Kelly’s first team for Saturday’s game with Bradford City.
The 20-year-old signed on loan from Scottish giants Celtic until January 1 yesterday, becoming Kelly’s ninth signing of the summer and excited to get started.
He said: "It is great to get down here. It happened very quickly but I’m just delighted to get it over the line and it’s great to eventually get it done.
“I can’t wait to get started and really looking forward to getting out on the pitch now and start playing.”
O’Connell has made six appearances for Celtic in all competitions and started for them earlier this season Dundee United.
With Scottish Premier League experience, the young central defender is hoping to force his way into the manager’s plans for the weekend.
"Hopefully I can get out there on Saturday against Bradford. I’ll just keep working as hard as I can during the week and get in,” he said.
“I’m good in the air and I like to pass the ball out from the back so they would be my main attributes.”
