SIGNING: Striker Joins On Loan

23 September 2015

Oldham Athletic have signed striker Michael Higdon on a three month emergency loan from fellow Sky Bet League One side Sheffield United.

Higdon has made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Blades since signing in 2014, scoring five goals.

The 6’1” striker has been prolific in Scotland, netting 40 goals for Motherwell in a two year spell, winning him the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year in 2013.

His goalscoring record earned him a move to NEC Nijmegen in Holland where he scored 14 times in 32 appearances.

The 32-year-old goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s game with rivals Wigan Athletic.

Higdon will wear the number 34 shirt during his time with the club.
