Betty Pascall (1943-2016)

4 April 2016

Oldham Athletic were saddened to learn the news regarding Betty Pascall who passed away last week aged 72 following a short illness.

Betty, as she was fondly known, was Commercial secretary at Latics for 22 years died on 31st March in Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

Betty, along with her husband Tony, set up and ran the Junior Latics for many years and was instrumental in building the junior membership to over 1,000 in the 1990s.

Junior Latics was the first contact many youngsters had with Latics and no doubt a lot of today’s supporters will remember Betty and Tony as being the driving force behind the Junior Latics, organising trips to places like Gulliver’s World, York and Lightwater Valley and the regular meetings at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as well as in the popular Junior Latics Lounge in the old Lookers Stand.

Betty leaves husband Tony, daughter Alison and Joanne and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at Holy Trinity Church, Church Street East, Waterhead, on Tuesday, April 12 at 11.30am, following by committal at Hollinwood Crematorium at 1pm. Mourners are asked to wear a football scarf.

There will be a wake afterwards at the Oldham Event Centre in the new North Stand.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu of flowers to MacMillan Nurses/Dr Kershaws.
