Forte: “It’s A Six Pointer.”

15 April 2016

Forward Jonathan Forte admitted tomorrow’s game against Fleetwood Town is a six pointer.

Latics lie one point ahead of Fleetwood Town in the table and victory could take them onto 50 points with four games remaining.

Forte believes tomorrow’s game is huge in the context of the season.

He said: "It’s a six pointer. They are down with us so if we can get that win then it will be happy days.

“We have got five games left of the season and if we can get another two wins then we’ll be safe.

“If we beat them then it puts them down a bit more and give us a lot more confidence.”

The 29-year-old has struck up a partnership with striker Curtis Main and he believes playing alongside him will help him recapture his goalscoring form.

“I like working with Curtis as he’s a good player so it works well,” he commented.

"I’m always wanting to score but I don’t mind as long as the team gets the result. When the teams wins, I can celebrate.”

Latics could be without key men for tomorrow’s game but the forward admits that some of the injured players might return.

“I think there are a few injuries but some of them can get over them. There are one or two that can’t but I think we will be alright,” he said.
