Jimmy Frizzell To Have Stand Named In His Honour

12 August 2016

Oldham Athletic are to rename the Rochdale Road Stand after legendary manager Jimmy Frizzell, who sadly passed away last month aged 79.

Frizzell was a huge part of the history of Oldham Athletic, serving both as a player and as manager, and, in conjunction with Trust Oldham, the decision has been made to name the stand in his honour.

Chief Executive Neil Joy said: “Jimmy was a great player and manager and a real gentleman. We believe that naming a stand in his honour is a fitting tribute to a true Oldham Athletic legend.”

Frizzell touched the hearts of many Oldham Athletic supporters and he will be remembered at tomorrow’s Sky Bet League One game against Walsall which has been designated as ‘Jimmy Frizzell Day’.

Further details regarding the formal dedication of the stand will be released in due course
