Roger East will be the man in charge of Saturday’s opening day clash with Millwall.
East refereed in the Premier League last season, handing out 119 yellow cards and two reds in 39 games.
The referee last officiated Latics in the 1-1 with Bury last season.
Stuart Butler and Thomas Ramsey will assist the referee whilst Marc Wilson will be Saturday’s fourth official.
