Olympic gold medallist Nicola White will be our special guest at Saturday’s Sky Bet League One game against Shrewsbury Town.
White helped the Great Britain women’s hockey team win gold at Rio 2016 after a thrilling penalty win over the Netherlands in the final.The forward scored in the final against the Dutch to level the scores at 3-3 and send the game into a shoot-out where goalkeeper Maddie Hinch was the hero.
Oldham-born White will be introduced to the crowd before Saturday’s game against the Shrews and then will deliver the match ball to the referee before kick off.
The 28-year-old will also take part in a question and answer session in the Broadway Suite in the North Stand where she tells of her memories of the Olympics.
