Steve Robinson has named central defender Peter Clarke as his captain for the new 2016/17 Sky Bet League One campaign.
Clarke joined the club from neighbours Bury this summer and the manager believes the defender is the right man for the job.He said: “Peter epitomises everything we are about now at the club with his work ethic, professionalism and where he has played in his career and the levels he has played at.
“That’s the type of person I want to run the dressing room and we’ve got Paul Green in there as well who is a super character and they are both brilliant signings for us.”
