Oldham Athletic players Ollie Banks, Josh Law and Charles Dunne visited Oldham Foodbank yesterday.
The trio were on hand to deliver food which was donated by the players and fans to the Foodbank.
All three gained an insight into how the Foodbank distribute their food and saw for themselves how important it is to the community.
Left back Dunne said: “Today was a real eye opener for me as it showed what certain people go through on a daily basis.
“I was shocked to find out over 100 people used the small facility every day, so to help, especially at this time of year, really makes a difference.”
Operations manager Wendy Noble added: “You don’t know how many families are affected until you go and see for yourself.
“It was great to see how appreciative the staff and volunteers were of the donation and we will be back in the new year to help out with more donations.”
