Holloway Looking To Hit The Ground Running

12 February 2016

New loan signing Aaron Amadi-Holloway is looking to hit the ground running as he makes the step up to League One football.

The striker has signed on an emergency loan until the end of the season after impressing manager John Sheridan for the last two seasons.

Holloway cited the manager’s influence in signing for the club: “I’ve played against a Sheridan side a few times last season and I know what he is about,” he said.

"I can see how he likes to play and that will suit me massively. I was buzzing when I found out that he wanted to take me on loan for a few months so hopefully I’ll take the opportunity that I get.”

After joining from Wycombe Wanderers, the 22-year-old makes the step up to Sky Bet League One football and he is excited to show supporters what he can do.

“I can’t wait for the game against Wigan,” he admitted. "I’ve never been to that stadium before and it’s a new standard of football for me so hopefully I’ll take that opportunity with both hands and do well.

“I’m into the unknown but it’s a new beginning for me so hopefully in these few months I’ll see what I can do.”

The striker has eight goals to his name in 64 appearances for the Chairboys, however, he explains that his game is far more than just goals.

“I like to battle hard, run about, put some tackles in, win some headers and score some goals here,” he said.

“I’d say I’m more of a target man, hold up player who likes to play people in and get them on the scoresheet as well."
