John Sheridan has bolstered his midfield options with the signing of Matt Palmer from Burton Albion on a youth loan until February 27.
The 20-year-old has made 100 appearances in all competitions for the Brewers, contributing six goals since making his debut aged 17.
He played a key role in their promotion from Sky Bet League Two last season, scoring four times in 37 games.
Manager John Sheridan was delighted to secure the service of the young midfielder.
He said: “‘I’ve always liked him and he’s a good intelligent footballer.
“He’s been part of a winning team at Burton and they have been in the play-offs and won the league last season.
"He’s a little different to what we’ve got and he will be a good addition to us.”
Palmer will wear the number 12 shirt during his time with the club.
