Head of Coaching for the academy Simon Cooper believes Latics youth team are fully prepared for tonight’s game against Luton Town.
The winners of the clash will progress through to the fifth round of the competition to face Preston North End at Deepdale.
With confidence high amongst the lads, Cooper is hoping the spirit of the players will shine through and they will get the win.
"They probably aren’t the best technically, as they will admit themselves, but their work ethic and team spirit is phenomenal. The lads are very excited for the game so hopefully we will have a right go at it.”
Visitors Luton Town have already won their division, winning 17 out of their 21 games this season and only losing one game.
"They are a good team. They are well organised and they have got a lot of good reports from the south,” admitted Cooper.
“A lot of their players are being looked at by other clubs and they have already offered three professional contracts.
“They have a good striker so they will be dangerous but they haven’t played us yet and hopefully we can get the win.”
Cooper insists the players are focused on the game: "I’ve said to the lads don’t look beyond the next game. Take each game as a battle, and if you win all the battles, you win the war.
“Forget Chelsea, Blackburn and Preston, let’s just deal with Luton Town first and then we’ll see where we are after that."
