Plans In Place For Jimmy Frizzell Tribute

Oldham Athletic players will wear black armbands against Huddersfield Town tomorrow afternoon as a mark of respect in memory of the late Jimmy Frizzell.

Jimmy passed away on July 3 and plans are in place to remember the great man on the opening home league game of the season against Walsall.

The club will be holding a Jimmy Frizzell day, with more information regarding this event released nearer the time. 

Meanwhile, details regarding Jimmy’s funeral have been released.

Jimmy’s funeral will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 22 at St Anne’s Church, Royton, Oldham OL2 5LB (at the end of Broadway).

This will be followed by a cremation at Oldham Crematorium, Hollinwood Cemetery, Roman Road, Oldham, OL8 3LU at 3.30pm.
 
As a mark of respect, Oldham Athletic Football Club will close at 1pm, with club representatives walking to the short distance to the church. 
 
Supporters and mourners are welcome to use the club’s main car park should they wish.
