J D Williams Team Of The Week

19 March 2016

Oldham Athletic Community Trust would like to welcome Failsworth Dynamos Whites to Park, who are the J D Williams Team of the Week for this afternoon’s fixture against Rochdale.

Here is a little more information about them:
Failsworth Dynamos Whites play in the East Manchester Junior League Championship at under 9’s level with matches played at Stockport Sports and training held at Failsworth Soccer Centre.

The season to date has been successful with the team reaching the League Cup final which is to be played in May against Reddish Vulcans.

The semi-final against Tintwistle Athletic was a real nail biter and finished 4-4 after extra time, Dynamos eventually won 3-2 on penalties.
The coaching philosophy of managers James Coffey and Nick Galgani encourages the team members to develop character traits that will assist them in later life, it is not just about playing football.

In short the club tries to:
  • Focus on the best interests and well-being of every player
  • Promote the respect of players and coaches on both teams, as well as officials
  • Uphold the virtues of fair play, good sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity
  • Place safety, skill development, and fun ahead of any personal desires to win.
  • Promote team work whilst also allowing the children to develop into individuals.
The club recently were successful in obtaining a funding grant from the Rotary Club of Chadderton and Failsworth to buy new equipment which in turn has enhanced the training and development of the team.
Given Failsworth’s locality there are some United and City fans in the team. However as manager Nick is a lifelong Latics fan he is trying hard to develop an Oldham following within the team. Hopefully today’s experience will assist with this.
The team are: Goalkeeper – Preston Coffey, Defenders –McKenzie Cartwright,  Luke O’Mahoney, Godmi, Daniel Effrem, Midfielders Jaden Brooks, Ryan Kaba , Daniel Galgani, Destin Vila, Jake Moran, Forwards Charlie Eyre, Mason Coffey.
