John Sheridan has bolstered his attacking options with the loan signing of Timmy Thiele from Burton Albion until the end of the season.
The German was signed by former Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at the start of the season but has since found his chances limited under Nigel Clough.
The 24-year-old played 78 minutes for Burton Albion against Latics earlier this season and he is delighted to sign for the club until the end of the season.
Thiele said: “I’m happy to sign for Oldham Athletic on loan. Hopefully I can help the club, score some goals and get us out of the relegation places.
“The club are better than the league position suggests so hopefully I can help them get away from danger.”
Thiele will wear the number 30 shirt during his time with the club.
