Oldham Athletic midfielder Carl Winchester has praised the fans for their support this season and is fully focused on getting the three points tomorrow afternoon, should the game go ahead.
Whilst the weather is not on Latics’ side at the moment, the 22-year-old admitted the squad are fully focused on earning three points and to reward supporters with money off their 2016/17 Season Ticket.
He said: "Hopefully we can get those four wins because it’s always good to give back to the fans. They are the ones who come and support us.
“You see the weather conditions on Tuesday night and they were there supporting us so it will be great to get them four wins for the fans.”
Athletic do face a tough test against Swindon Town tomorrow, however they will take confidence from their victory over the Robins earlier this season.
However, the Northern Irishman believes the conditions will play into Latics’ hands and not their opponents.
"They are a good team and seemed to have picked up a bit of form. We will be going into the game knowing it’s a winnable game for us,” he commented.
“They are a passing team and they like to get the ball down so the pitch won’t suit them and we know how it plays now so it’s a game we can win.”
The recent run of games has taken its toll on Winchester and he believes a full weeks rest next week will help the players.
"We are just in the gym doing recovery sessions and getting your legs ready for the games.
"The weather up here always seems to be bad. When you go away from home the pitches are good and it suits us more because we like to get the ball down and pass it.
“At home we have to switch our game plan up to win games because at this time that’s what we know we need to do."
