Following Carlisle United’s victory over Fleetwood Town this evening, Oldham Athletic have advanced through to the second round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
Yesterday’s penalty shootout win for Latics took them up to five points, whilst a defeat for Fleetwood Town tonight means they finish the group stage only on three points.
Carlisle United finish as group winners, Latics runners up, Fleetwood in third and Blackburn in fourth.
Athletic now face an away tie in the second round of the competition after finishing second in the group.
The draw for the second round takes place on Sky Sports News tomorrow morning (Thursday, November 10) at 10.30am.
