Oldham Athletic youth team beat Scunthorpe United 2-1 at the weekend.
After falling a goal behind, Francois Antoine and Brendy Glackin scored the goals to turn the game on its head and win the game for Tony Philliskirk’s men.
Speaking about the game, he said: "I’m delighted to get the win on the back of a busy week last week. We beat Burton Albion last week who were second in the division, then we had the youth cup game against Bury which takes a lot out of the boys.
"We then went to Scunthorpe who are above us in the league and it is a tough place to go and to get a win was very pleasing so they had a really good seven days and I have to give them a lot of credit.
“We spoke before the game about the lord mayors show performance after the euphoria of the youth cup.
“We beat a good Bury team and people were surprised we beat them because they were very much fancied to do well in the competition this season.
"We were slow out of the traps against Scunthorpe but we missed a lot of guilt-edge chances to make it a comfortable win.
“We went behind but then the pleasing thing was we turned it around and created a lot of opportunities.
"We dominated the second half but we should have been so comfortable in the game. We should have been three or four one up but we just weren’t ruthless enough in front of goal.
"All in all though, it was pleasing to get the win and it’s been a good seven days.
“The boys are in a good place at the moment, we are playing some really good football, we look lively and hopefully we can continue that going into the youth cup game next week."
