There is a lot of confidence in the Oldham Athletic changing room according to captain Peter Clarke.
The captain, who has helped his side to six clean sheets this season so far, believes the recent wins has lifted the atmosphere and the lads are on a high at the moment.
He said: “We have three wins out of four and the performance at Bolton last week wasn’t a poor performance but we just didn’t get the result that we would have liked.
"The boys are going into the game in good confidence and we’re all really looking forward to it. We took one or two knocks along the way but I wouldn’t say there is a lack of confidence in the dressing room.
“There is a tight knit bunch and the lads are great so if anyone is having a bad day where they are down, the boys recognise it and pull them through.
“I don’t think there is a problem with the confidence, even though we haven’t been getting the results we liked, we have performed consistently at a good level so hopefully now the performances are turning into results as well."
Bristol Rovers are the visitors to SportsDirect.com Park tomorrow afternoon and Clarke admits there is nothing to fear from their opponents.
“They are a side who have been doing reasonably well and they are riding on a crest of a wave with their promotions that they have enjoyed,” he commented.
“We are aware it will be a tough game and Darrell Clarke will have his side well organised.
“We will be ready for the test and we want to take the form from Tuesday night and come away with a really positive result."
After joining from local rivals Bury this summer, Clarke praised the supporters and believes big things are set to happen to the football club.
“The fans have been fantastic since I arrived,” he admitted. “I would urge them to carry on supporting the boys and personally I think this is the start of something where we could get to the next level.
“I think if the fans stick with us, there will be some downs, plenty of ups but if they continue supporting us then there is going to be a good rest of the season ahead and we can give them a lot to shout about."
