Oldham Athletic Community Trust would like to welcome Chadderton Park Eagles to SportsDirect.com Park, who are the “JD Williams Team Of The Week” for this afternoon’s fixture against MK Dons.
Here is a little more information about the team:
Chadderton Park Eagles U9’s
Established in 1979, Chadderton Park is an FA Charter Standard Community sports club, providing both children and adults with the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports including football, netball and rounders. The ethos of the club is about taking part, having fun, learning together and making new friends. The club has over 80 teams, 1,000 registered players and 140 qualified coaches across the various sports.
The Eagles U9's currently play in the East Manchester Junior Football League. Although the majority of the team have been with the club since the age of 6, we have been delighted to welcome additional players to the team over the years and the progress and development of each player has been fantastic. Training once a week, the boys show a fantastic enthusiasm for the game. They have all shown a willingness to listen, learn and develop their skills in both a player centred approach and team perspective.
With the move to U9's for the 2016/17 season, came the transition from 5-a-side to 7-a-side football. A after a solid pre-season the team have adapted to the new format well and continue to go from strength to strength. The most pleasing aspect is the manner in which the team have been playing their football; playing out from the back and trying to keep possession through quick, accurate passing. The progress they have shown at such an early age is brilliant and bodes well for the coming years, where we hope to see the boys continue to flourish together.
