Striker Freddie Ladapo was delighted to score his first goal in the English Football League on Saturday.
The Crystal Palace loanee came on as a 61st minute substitute and within four minutes he smashed the equaliser home as Latics went on to win the game in the final minute.
Speaking about his first goal for the club, Ladapo said: “The frustration in me was building, and you can see it in the players as well, we all want to score and we all want to win games and do well.
"When I was on the bench today I just had to suck it up, come on and show what I can do and from the first minute I really wanted it.
Ryan Flynn notched the last minute winner and the striker singled him out for praise at the end of the game
“He was terrific today in his play, his pressing and organisation,” Ladapo admitted. “I’m really happy for him and the team."
The 24-year-old now knows the importance of building on that good result and is aiming to keep the run going next week against Bolton Wanderers.
“If we play like this next week then we always have a chance but we have to carry on the strong performance and we need to believe we can do well,” he said.
