CLUB STATEMENT: Chief Executive To Depart Club

15 September 2016

Oldham Athletic can confirm that Chief Executive and Football Secretary, Neil Joy, is to leave the club at the end of the month to take up a new challenge within football.

Joy steps down as a Director of Oldham Athletic (2004) AFC Limited with immediate effect.

Joy said: “There have been some extremely challenging moments, but overall it has been a real pleasure for me to serve this magnificent football club over the years, but it is now time for me to move on to a new challenge.

“I have met many interesting people, made some great friends and will really miss the place.

“I will take some great football memories with me, most notably Matt Smith's injury time equaliser against Everton in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

“I would like to put on record my gratitude to all the staff, managers and players I have had the pleasure to work with, many of whom have gone above and beyond in the best interests of Oldham Athletic.

“I wish the club every success for the future.”
