Reckord Pushing For Starting Place After Recovering From Injury

22 September 2016

Full back Jamie Reckord has recovered from a hip injury which has ruled him out for over a month and he is now in contention to face Swindon Town on Saturday.

The full back, who at the time was battling with a broken nose as well, sustained his injury against Walsall last month.

He said: “It was disappointing to get injured as nobody likes to be injured so it’s frustrating but that’s life.

“Everyone is going to have injuries and set backs so it’s about how you deal with it.”

However, the 24-year-old is now fit and played the full game for the reserves against Carlisle United on Tuesday.

“I enjoyed getting my first 90 minutes under the belt since I got injured so it is good to be back in contention,” he admitted.

“I’m fitter now and personally I feel like I’m ready to go back into the side and push for a place on Saturday.”

Whilst Reckord is back in contention, he does know he will have to work hard to get back into the manager’s plans.

“It’s going to be tough to get back into the side,” he commented.

“The gaffer can only pick 11 players so it’s hard for him but I’m going to work my socks off to get back into the side."
