Robinson Excited To Lock Horns With His Former Gaffer

9 September 2016

Manager Stephen Robinson is looking forward to locking horns with his former gaffer as Chesterfield are the visitors to SportsDirect.com Park tomorrow.

Chesterfield boss Danny Wilson managed Robinson during a brief loan spell at Bristol City in 2002.

Whilst both have become a lot more experienced in the game, Robinson knows what to expect from Wilson’s team tomorrow.

He said: "I know Danny Wilson really well, I played for him at Bristol City and he is a super manager. I know what way he will have his team prepared. They will be up and at it and aggressive as well.

“Ched Evans is a big threat, we are well aware of that and they have got other players in their team who are dangerous, especially in wide areas. We are more than prepared for that.

“The boys have seen footage of that and we are prepared on the pitch but it’s more about what we do and how we approach the game.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s game, the manager gave an injury update regarding his squad.

“Jamie Reckord is back in training this week,” he admitted. “He has started running gently and we are going to see if he has had any reaction to that.

“We are hoping we can push him into a reserve game on Wednesday against Rochdale and we will assess him after that.

“Calaum Jahraldo-Martin is back training but needs some game time whilst Freddie Ladapo has a slight illness at the moment so he will be touch and go for tomorrow’s game.”
