Holloway: “It Was A Great Performance.”

9 April 2017

Striker Aaron Amadi-Holloway was delighted to get one over on his former club Fleetwood Town yesterday.

The striker was instrumental form as he laid on the assist for Lee Erwin to score Athletic’s second goal of the game.

Speaking straight after the game, Holloway said: “I couldn’t have asked for much more really.

“It was a great game and a great performance from ourselves, same as we did last week, this week we were able to finish the game off so it was good.

“I was there so I know what they are about so I expected them to cause us a few more problems.

“I thought they were going to be more attacking but they let us play more than they usually do and then we capitalised on it."

Whilst the striker is still searching for his first goal back in blue colours, one man who has found form is Leeds loanee Erwin.

The striker notched his eighth goal of the season and fifth in his last seven games and Holloway could not praise him enough.

“Lee Erwin is on flames at the moment and it’s good on him,” he commented.

“He didn’t have a great start to the season and didn’t play as much as he wanted but now he is doing well and scoring goals so I’m really happy for him."

The former Fleetwood Town man limped off on the hour mark but he was quick to say: “It’s nothing major. It’s what I came off with a couple of weeks ago.

“I knew it was going to be a risk coming in early because I’ve only trained once but it was perfect to play and help the team get the three points which we needed.”
